CHALLENGE: A heavy equipment manufacturer was using classic hot potting and air assisted airless spraying to coat rock crushing equipment. Those methods were becoming time consuming and generating too much waste.

SOLUTION: The manufacturing engineer asked his local distributor and paint supplier for a solution. They agreed automatic plural component mixing would drastically reduce downtime and labor costs associated with hand mixing. It would also provide ratio assurance and flow control, leading to less overspray and more material savings.

They considered both the Graco ProMix 2KS and the Wagner 2K Smart. In a side-by-side study of the two mixing and dosing systems, it became evident to the company that ProMix 2KS could deliver more ratio assurance and flexibility with color changes.
