Automotive Finisher Finds the Right Pump for the Job
Faster flushing and color changes achieved with high pressure diaphragm pump.
Trying to cut costs with the wrong technology ended up costing more

GRACO EQUIPMENT: Endura-Flo High Pressure Diaphragm Pump
CHALLENGE: An automotive finisher wanted faster flushing and color changes, but was running a pump that couldn’t handle the cycle rates needed. Instead of replacing it with more compatible technology, they decided to remove the backpressure regulator and let the pump run away, at three times its recommended speed.
This led to constant repairs. The downtime costs associated with the repairs far outweighed the time saved in increased flushing speed.
They also couldn’t keep steady maintenance work. With high turnover in maintenance employees, Graco webinars and hands on training was their only saving grace to keep up with repairs. The problem needed to be addressed at its source.
SOLUTION: Having seen enough inefficiency, their Graco account representative suggested the Endura-Flo High Pressure Diaphragm Pump. With the amount of money already spent and the amount needed for repairs in the future, buying the right pump was the logical solution.
RESULTS: The Endura-Flo was easily installed in place of their former Triton pump. They have been able to make color change requirement times. And the rugged diaphragm pump design has held strong for at least 12 months without maintenance or repairs.
