PerformAA promotes continuous improvement
CUSTOMER: Wood cabinet manufacturer
GRACO EQUIPMENT: PerformAA 1500 manual air assist spray paint gun for woord
CHALLENGE: Many manufacturers make it a point to be on the cutting edge of new technology. Whether it is increasing production, reducing costs, or a better finish quality, continuous improvement is always a main priority.
A large cabinet manufacturer was no different. In the last five years, they already upgraded their proportioning equipment and paint kitchen pumps to the latest Graco models.
Spray gun performance was next. Transfer efficiency, finish quality, cost savings and ergonomics were at the top of their mind.
SOLUTION: When looking for options, Graco was the clear front-runner. Their current Graco equipment was performing great, and they liked the A+ customer service reassurance.
The finishing engineer was excited to learn about and sign up for a field trial of Graco’s new PerformAA air assist (AA) spray gun line. He said, “It’s a great way to stay on the leading edge of technology available.”
RESULT: Two PerformAA 1500 manual air assist spray paint guns for wood furniture were put on the finishing line for several months. They improved performance in these areas:
- Comfort: The PerformAA allowed operators’ hands to stay in a more neutral position while spraying.
- Less air: Technicians were able to lower the atomisation air pressure to 5 psi when using correct air caps for each material.
- Cleanliness: The air cap stayed cleaner, and required less maintenance throughout the day.
