Sikagard®-834 for an EV Battery
Product description
Sikagard-834 is easily applied with standard airless spray equipment and requires no reinforcement. The fire protection coating cures rapidly to a very tough and resistant finish, and is ready for handling and transport after 24 hours.

Product features
The Sikagard-834 intumescent coating includes the following characteristics:
- Solvent-free, 100 percent solids
- Low odour and zero flash risk
- Halogen-free
- Easy application with single-leg spray equipment
- Rapid cure - next day handling and transport
- Highly resistant to mechanical impact and damage in service
- Durable for a long service life
- No primer or top coat needed
- Excellent corrosion protection properties
Properties
The epoxy-based fireproofing material has the following qualities:
- Chemical base: Two-component modified epoxy
- Colour: Light grey
- Cure mechanism: Polyaddition
- Density: 1.25 kg/l
- Solids content (CQP002-2): 100%
- Curing time (CQP049-2): 8h for touch dry, 24h for full curing
- Mixing ratio: By weight: 100 : 8.5; by volume: 100 : 11.4
- Application temperature: +5˚C to +40˚C
- Pot life: 30 minutes (23˚C/50%RH), 15 minutes (35˚C/50%RH)
- Service temperature: -40˚C to +80˚C
- Shelf life (CQP016-1): 24 months (23˚C/50%RH)
