Frequently Asked Questions
- Remove valve by disconnecting swivel unions.
- Connect hose directly to air motor.
- Operate motor directly with air regulator.
- Clear air line; increase air supply.
- Check that valves are open.
- Clean the hose or applicator.
- Clean rod. Always stop pump at bottom of stroke; keep wet cup filled with TSL.
- Be sure the inlet ball moves freely.
- Clean or repair air motor.
- See motor manual.
- Service the piston ball check.
- Replace the piston packings and piston if necessary.
- Service the intake valve ball check.
- Clear air line.
- Increase air supply.
- Check that valves are open.
- Clean valves if necessary.
- Clean the fluid hose on the applicator.
- Refill the hopper and the prime pump.
- Clear piston valve.
- Service the piston ball check.
- Replace packings.
- Clear or service intake valve.
- Service the pump lower.
- See applicator manual; read fluid manufacturer's recommendations.
- Adjust air needle valve on applicator (see applicator manual).
- Service spray applicator (see applicator manual).
- Disassemble and clean the pump.
- Try to flush the hose using water hose and/or polyurethane tube.
- Thin and mix material thoroughly to a lower viscosity.
- Use a pump system priming fluid (slime). Wet out the system.
- Use a larger diameter hose.
- Thoroughly mix in a pump-aid or performance admixture to the material.
- If no ball valve is immediately available:
- Bypass the air motor pilot valve so air is always supplied to air motor, regardless of applicator pilot valve position.
- Control fluid flow by adjusting air regulator pressure up and down as needed.
- Install new pilot ball valve when one becomes available.
- Disassemble, clean and repack ball valve with lithium grease.
- If no ball valve is immediately available:
- Relieve pressure in system.
- Remove ball valve.
- Control fluid flow by adjusting air regulator up and down as needed.
- Replace ball valve when one becomes available.
