Testimonial: “The Mark VII XT did superbly, even when we tested thicker fire retardant paints”

Northvolt ETT is a lithium-ion battery gigafactory in Skellefteå, Sweden. Brandskyddsmålarna i Sverige AB coated all steel frames with fire retardant paint, using our Mark VII XT ProContractor sprayer. Painter Mikael Jansson: “This is the best sprayer I have ever worked with.”

"We have used Graco’s new sprayer for two different projects”, begins Mikael. “I used it for two to three months, during the construction of a battery factory in Skellefteå. Here we sprayed fire-protection coatings on load-bearing steel posts, beams, columns...”

“During this time, I sprayed several tons of fire retardant paint. We tested coatings from three different suppliers, and it worked equally well with all of them. The Mark VII XT did superbly. This paint sprayer works perfectly, even when we tested thicker paint. The spray pattern was super good.”

Before trying out the Mark VII XT, Brandskyddsmålarna i Sverige AB already had several Graco sprayers in their fleet. How does the XT compare according to Mikael? “With this one, we didn’t need heaters, even though we have a 30-meter long hose. This machine just keeps on going, which is quite remarkable."

“When we compare it with the current Mark VII, the even spray pattern of the fireproof coatings stands out. We always measure the thickness of the paint, and we noticed that this XT-unit puts on the paint more evenly.”

Northvolt Ett is a lithium-ion battery gigafactory based in Skellefteå, in the north of Sweden. Ett will serve as Northvolt’s primary site for manufacturing active material, cell assembly, recycling and auxiliaries.

The first phase of Ett will cover an area of 500.000m². That’s three times the size of the Pentagon.
