Low cost of ownership
An important consideration for dispensing applications involves evaluating the cost of ownership of a product. Equipment up-time is a main driver of the cost of ownership. Mean cycles between failure (MCBF) and mean time to repair (MTTR) are metrics to determine how efficient a product will perform from an equipment uptime perspective and the length of time required to repair a piece of equipment. The iQ Dispense Valves were tested with a common one-component epoxy for structural adhesive applications.
Mean Time Between Failure
In this test, valves were cycled on and off until failure. When tested against competitive offerings, the Graco iQ Dispense Valves outlasted the competition – up to 4.75 times the life.*

Mean Time to Rebuild
Valves were cycled on and off using comparable material inlet and outlet pressures and duty cycles. After each valve failed, they were rebuilt with appropriate repair kits. The MTTR measures how quickly the iQ Dispense Valve line can be rebuilt. A low MTTR time leads to minimised equipment downtime. The iQ-T tip seal model required the least amount of time to repair, followed by the iQ-B ball seat and iQ-S snuff back models, respectively.

Material Outlet Pressure:
69 bar (1000 psi) (snuff back models)
186 bar (2700 psi) (all other models)
Duty Cycles: 250ms on/500ms off
